The meeting reviewed the efforts made to reach for an Arab leadership role to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis. The two ministers also discussed a number of bilateral issues such as border security, combating drug smuggling, water, and refugees. The bilateral meeting came prior to the start of the five-way meeting, which includes the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, in addition to Jordan and Syria, to discuss the Syrian crisis. The meeting comes as a continuation of the ministerial "consultative" meeting hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on April 14,2023

Ammon News - A bilateral meeting brought together the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, with his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Miqdad, after his arrival in Amman on Monday.

The meeting reviewed the efforts made to reach for an Arab leadership role to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
