Ammon News - Lower House Speaker Ahmed Safadi on Wednesday met with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia' Al Sudani, and Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani.
In his meeting with heads of the Iraqi parliamentary blocs, in the presence of Jordan Ambassador to Iraq, Montaser Al-Uqla, Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to Rashid, Al Sudani and Barzani during separate meetings he held with them.
Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's supportive stance, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, for all efforts aimed at strengthening the security and stability of Iraq as a fundamental pillar of the region's security and stability.
He said that the parliaments of the two countries must exert more efforts to overcome legislative obstacles related to the Jordanian, Iraqi, Egyptian economic integration projects, stressing that Jordan maintains the same distance from various Iraqi components, and views Iraq as the depth of Jordan and its Arab nation.
He added that the two countries share a history and common interests, so Jordan, led by His Majesty the King, was keen to make the Baghdad Conference for Partnership and Cooperation, which was recently held in the Dead Sea region, a success.
The Iraqi president expressed his country's appreciation for King Abdullah's supportive stances to the security, unity and stability of Iraq, calling for investing the outcomes of the Baghdad conference in a way that achieves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mohammad Shia' Al Sudani reaffirmed the Iraqi government's appreciation for the King's efforts to support the security and stability of Iraq and his endeavor to achieve the Jordanian-Iraqi-Egyptian trilateral economic integration, stressing the importance of the projects that were agreed upon at the Baghdad conference.
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region expressed his gratitude and appreciation to King Abdullah for his supportive stances, especially in the war against terrorism.
