Ammon News - Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply and Minister of Labor Yousef Shamali on Wednesday welcomed a visiting delegation from the Business Executives for American National Security Group (BENS).

During the meeting, Shamali stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the United States in many fields, particularly the economic one.

He said prospects for cooperation with the US, which he described as "an important economic partner," were magnified after signing a free trade agreement, increasing Jordanian exports to the US market and enhancing Jordan's investment attractiveness.

The minister praised US aid to Jordan, which contributed to development projects and mitigated the effects of the Covid pandemic and global challenges caused by conflicts.

For their part, the US delegation commended developments and reforms witnessed in several Jordanian sectors despite challenges.

Jordanian exports to the US in the first ten months of 2022 topped JD1.43 billion, as opposed to JD883 million in imports.
