3, 232 monitoring tours made on tourist businesses within 7 months-Tourism Ministry

Ammon News - During January-July period of 2022, Ministry of Tourism's monitoring teams, in cooperation with other concerned authorities, carried out 3,232 inspection tours on tourist facilities in all the Kingdom's governorates.

In a press statement on Wednesday, the ministry said 4 establishments were closed, and 61 restaurants and hotels were either warned or fined for violations during the campaign, for non-compliance with tourist facilities classification criteria, or failure to comply with public health requirements, and lack of surveillance cameras.

The teams also alerted 671 facilities, and prevented a tourist establishment from receiving guests, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, 2,276 tourist businesses committed to preventive public health measures and conditions required by other concerned authorities, the ministry pointed out.

The ministry called on all tourist establishments and visitors to adhere to preventive public health and safety measures, and comply with its requirements in force.

Legal action will be taken against violators, who did not comply with the required procedures and conditions, the ministry affirmed.
