Poll: 80% of Jordanians believe that economic situation moves in a negative direction

Only 27% of Jordanians believe that things are moving in a positive direction, compared to 66% of them who believe that things move in a negative direction, according to a public opinion poll conducted by the Centre for Strategic Studies (CSS) at the University of Jordan on Wednesday.

Price hikes, cost of living raise, deteriorating economy, high unemployment rate and government confusion in making decisions are the main reasons behind this negative impression by Jordanians, according to the Centre for Strategic Studies.

Meanwhile, 80% of Jordanians believe that economic situation moves in a negative direction.

With regards to media, 53% of Jordanians depend on social media to follow local news, 36% of them depend on TV, 3% depend on electronic websites, the poll stated.
