Ammon News - The 32th epidemiological week spanning from August 6-12 saw 5 Covid-19 fatalities and 5,939 virus cases, marking a 8% infectivity-related spike, Ministry of Health announced.
With regard to testing, 33,625 PCR tests were conducted over the targeted week, compared with 27, 018, marking a 24% increase, with 17.7% positivity rate, against 20.3%, a week earlier, according to the ministry's media statement issued Sunday.
To date, there are currently 5,187 active Covid-19 cases countrywide, compared with 4,701 a week earlier, with a 10% increase.
Moreover, the ministry said number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 82, compared with 63 a week earlier.
On the national vaccination program, the ministry pointed out that the number of shots administered during the 32th week stood at 2, 352 for the first jab, 1, 692 for the second, and 1, 191 for the booster dose, totaling 5,235 shots, compared with 5,275 shots a week earlier, marking a 1% increase.
The total number of first dose recipients stands at 4,814,948, at a 75.2 percent rate for the 18yrs and over target group and 4,552,355 for the second jab, at a 71 percent rate, and 674,105 for the booster shot, according to the briefing.
Regarding immunization for the 12-17 age group, 238,262 received the first dose at a 25 percent rate, and double jabbed recipients reached 203,158 at a 20 percent rate. Meanwhile, among the 5-11 years age group, 321 and 230 children received the first and second doses, respectively.
