Ammon News - An inmate who escaped from Swaqa Correctional and Rehabilitation Center was recaptured on Tuesday, according to the Public Security Directorate spokesman.

He said that the inmate, who was not named, was back in custody after intensive efforts by protective police detectives that began immediate after he fled the facility in southern Jordan.

The spokesman said the man was questioned about the circumstances of his escape, adding that legal action will be taken against him and those who provided sanctuary to him.

The spokesman said that a judicial police investigation team will further hear from the inmate to determine what went wrong and led to the jail break and bring those responsible to account.
