Lower House Speaker, Yemen FM discuss ties

Ammon News - Lower House Speaker Abdul Karim Dughmi on Monday called for consolidating the ceasefire in Yemen to achieve reconciliation in line with UN resolutions, Yemeni dialogue principles and the Gulf Initiative and bring about security and stability in the war-torn country.

He spoke as he welcomed Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak to discuss prospects for enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Yemen in investment and economic fields, as well as issues of common interest.

Dughmi called for opening safe corridors for humanitarian aid and lifting the siege on Yemeni cities, stressing the importance of Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue hosted by Jordan.

For his part, bin Mubarak commended the "distinguished and historic" relations between Yemen and Jordan, expressing his appreciation for the Kingdom's political support in regional and international forums.
