Jordan-Egypt land transport committee concludes meeting

Ammon News - The joint Jordanian-Egyptian Land Transport Technical Committee on Tuesday concluded a meeting in Amman on enhancing transport cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting, headed on the Jordanian side by Ministry of Transport Secretary-General Wissam Tahtamoni and Egyptian Domestic and International Land Transport Regulatory Authority CEO Sayed Metwalli, went over a host of issues, including facilitating the transit of Jordanian trucks through Egyptian territory to Libya and completing an electronic linkage project.

They also tackled the prospect that the Egyptian commercial and industrial sectors use storage and logistical facilities in the the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, in addition to reducing fees on ships carrying hazardous materials in Nuweiba Port.
