Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat on Tuesday met with Canada's Ambassador to Jordan, Donica Petit.

The meeting covered mechanisms of cooperation in a number of areas related to the agricultural sector.

Hneifat commended the Canadian government's role in supporting Jordan in all sectors, stressing that food security is based on the agricultural sector.

He underlined the necessity of increasing cooperation with Canada to face the challenges impacting Jordan, especially in the field of climate change, scarcity of natural and water resources and repeated waves of refugees over the past years, which affected infrastructure and put pressure on natural resources and water sources.

Ambassador Petit, In turn, lauded Jordanian-Canadian ties and discussed ways to increase joint cooperation between the two countries.
