Ammon News - Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh on Sunday received the head of the Arab Tourism Organization, Bandar Al Fhaid, who is visiting the Kingdom to participate in the seventh Medical Tourism World Summit.

The prime minister emphasized Jordan's rich tourism, archaeological, and medical potentials, which make it a desirable travel destination, particularly for Arab medical tourists.

Khasawneh also underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation between Jordan and the Arab Tourism Organization in order to create tourism initiatives that help in luring more Arab visitors to Jordan, which is brimming with distinctive tourism levers on a regional and international scale.

He indicated that Jordan hopes that the designation of Madaba as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2022 will increase Arab and foreign tourist arrivals and support the tourism product.

The Prime Minister discussed the government's efforts to assist the tourism industry, which was one of the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that indicators and figures show that the industry is on the mend from the pandemic's ramifications.

Al Fhaid, for his part, described Jordan as regional and global tourism pioneer, highlighting the Kingdom's capacity to attract more tourists and tourism investments.

He stated that the organization is developing programs to promote medical tourism, emphasizing that Jordan is a major destination for Arab medical tourists as well as a suitable destination for Arab family tourism.

Al Fhaid summarized the organization's accomplishments, pointing out that it had trained tens of thousands of young Arab men and women.
