The Cabinet Monday approved a draft amendment to the De-Institutionalisation and support services for persons with intellectual disabilities law for 2022 as the word "intellectual" will be dropped from the law to allow it to cover all persons with disabilities.

The draft amendment supports the inclusion of persons with disabilities with their families and in their communities. It also names the court responsible for discharging a person with a disability from a residential centre to live with their family based on their age group and other criteria.

Also, the Cabinet discussed several items regarding the investment and business draft law, as Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh directed his government to finish discussing the draft law as soon as possible to be referred to the parliament, reflecting the government's keenness to pass the draft law.

Khasawneh emphasised that the draft law must support the Jordanian economy's ability to lure in investors, adding that obstacles to investment and conducting business must be eliminated.

Moreover, the Cabinet agreed to start buying wheat and barley crops from local farmers, as this will be done through the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Cabinet approved the reasoning for several draft laws related to the work of the courts. The amendment of the draft laws comes in the implementation of the recommendations of the Royal Commission for the development of the judicial system and the strengthening of the principle of the rule of law.
