Jordan to partake in Doha interfaith conference

Ammon News - Jordan on Tuesday will take part in the 14th Doha International Interfaith Conference under the title "Religions and Hate Speech: Between Scripture and Practice."

The conference, which will take place in Doha, brings together 300 scholars, religious leaders, researchers, academics and media professionals from 70 countries, according to a statement Monday by the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID), organizer of the conference.

The two-day conference focuses on three areas: the definition and concept of hate speech, the patterns and forms of hate speech and the role of religious figures and the media in addressing hate speech.

Chairman of the DICID Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi said that this conference aims to address hate speech and highlight the views of religions on it, in addition to calling for love, tolerance and compassion.
