Ammon News - Income and sales tax collections from the start of the year until the end of April were up to about JD2.080 billion, compared to JD1.855 billion during the same period last year, with an increase of JD225 million, or 12 per cent, said Income and Sales Tax Department Director General Husam Abu Ali.

Income tax collections during third 1 of the year totaled JD786 million, compared to JD612 during the same period in 2021, marking an increase of JD174 million, about 28 per cent up, he said.

The upswing in tax collections, Ali indicated, showed that reforms taken by the department to address tax distortions, imbalances and tax evasion and avoidance, have paid off.

He thanked taxpayers who submitted tax returns and paid their dues on time to avoid fines, urging those who have not yet submitted their statements to quickly do so to avoid further fines.
