Garments drive Irbid's exports to $107mln in February

Ammon News - Outbound shipments by clothing and textile manufacturers in Irbid sent the northern governorates total exports in February to $107 million, marking a 22.4-percent increase compared with $87 million recorded in the same month of 2021.

In a statement, the Irbid Chamber of Industry said Wednesday that most of the monthly exports originated from the Al-Hassan Industrial Estate, accounting for a whopping JD98.8 million of the total, followed by exports from the Cyber City at $5 million.

Garments and textiles exports, it indicated, amounted to $96 million, pharmaceuticals $3.3 million and foodstuffs $2.4 million. About $72 million of the northern governorate's exports' yield came from the United States, Arab countries with $9 million, European countries with $6.5 million, Canada with $800,000 and East Asian countries with $400,000.
