Heatwave raises electric load to 3,290 MW

Ammon News - The blazing heatwave that swept most parts of the Kingdom over the last few days pushed the electric load on Saturday evening to 3,290 megawatts (MW), compared to the morning load of 3,060 MW, according to data released on Sunday by the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO).

The data showed that the maximum power load registered in 2020 was 3,630 MW, increasing by 7.4 percent compared to a high of 3,380 MW recorded in 2019.

The NEPCO also stressed that the company's ability to meet the growth in end-use electrical consumption and to deal with any exceptional circumstances.
