Jordan extends exemption from customs duties, tax on sea freight charges

Ammon News - A Cabinet session held Tuesday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, decided to extend the implementation of its decision issued on January 21,2024, which included exemption from customs duties and the general and private sales tax resulting from sea freight charges, until June 30, 2024.

The decision comes in light of the fact that sea freight prices circulating in the markets are still higher than normal, as a result of the repercussions of the navigation crisis in the Red Sea, and with the aim of reducing the costs of importing goods and reducing the impact of their prices on citizens.
