Ammon News -

Minister of Education Mohammad Abu Qdais said Saturday that a plan to resume in-person education in public and private schools began early this year along with the implementation of an academic loss compensation programme.

He told a meeting of education directors and heads of departments, which he chaired to discuss preparations for the start of the new academic year, that the ministry has confidence in the ability of its staff to carry out the plan to return to in-class learning.

Qdais said the ministry pinned hope on the awareness of students and parents and teachers' care as a "key pillar in implementing the health protocol toward a healthy and safe start for all."

The ministry’s cadres, he said, are diligently working to commence the new academic year in the classroom, adding that students will begin receiving textbooks in their schools on Wednesday and Thursday.

The minister called on all cadres in the centre and in the field to help create a "healthy and safe educational environment for our students" and ensure that desks, appliances and books are available, while fully enforcing the health protocol.

The plan is to prepare the students mentally and socially after a long time of disruption of in-class education, he said.
