Senate legal committee endorses anti-human trafficking draft law

Ammon News - The Senate Legal Committee approved the draft law amending the 2019 Anti-Human Trafficking Law, as referred by the Lower House.

The bill was approved during a committee meeting held on Sunday, chaired by its head Ahmed Tabishat, attended by Minister of Social Development, Ayman Mufleh, and the stakeholders.

The draft law aims to stiffen penalties for perpetrators of human trafficking crimes to achieve deterrence at all levels and ensures justice, per its mandating reasons.

The bill also seeks to provide protection to human trafficking victims, create the "appropriate" conditions to assist and care for them, establish a special fund to help those affected and compensate them for the damages inflicted.
