Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Cabinet has decided, in its session held on Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, to exempt owners and practitioners of tourism professions, who renew their licenses at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), from licensing renewal, and ownership fees during 2020.

The decision also covers the exemption of land leasing amounts resulting from failing to renew the license during 2020, in addition to reducing the fees on waste collection and clean-up by 50% for one time.

The Cabinet also exempted tourism professions' owners and practitioners, licensed by the ASEZA, and has already renewed licenses for 2020 from licensing renewal, ownership fees, any levies, and land leasing amounts during 2021, in addition to reducing the fees on waste collection and clean-up by 50% for one time.


The Cabinet has also decided to implement the decision to reduce the customs fines imposed according to the provisions of the Customs Law on "open data" (under the consumption status in the ASEZA) and to consider all goods, their contents, as "restricted and not prohibited".

On the other hand, the Cabinet approved recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee, which is formed according to the principles of settling the outstanding cases between the taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), to settle the tax status of 355 companies and taxpayers under the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law, based on their requests submitted to the panel.

These settlements aim to encourage taxpayers to pay their taxes, enhance the efficiency of tax collection, and reduce tax burdens on taxpayers, under the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law.


The Council of Ministers approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment in Spain regarding cooperation in the agricultural field, aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural fields, by sharing information, experiences and modern technologies.


On the other hand, the Cabinet approved the issuance of silver and bronze commemorative coin to mark the centenary of the establishment of the Jordanian state.
