PM orders reassignment of Omari crossing staff, urges robust control of entry point

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday ordered the reassignment of staff at the Omari border crossing center in an effort to strengthen control of the entry point with Saudi Arabia and prevent any violations that may lead to the spread of the COVID-19 inside the Kingdom.

Following a visit to the border crossing on Saturday, Razzaz also ordered the appointment of a deputy governor who shall serve as a single focal point with all stakeholders and beef up security forces presence on the border post to ensure that everyone adheres to public health and safety instructions.

The prime minister also underlined that the management of the border center's and all supervisory and technical tasks should be handled by specialized, experienced and competent cadres to strictly control health procedures.

Razzaz underscored the importance of providing staff with a specialized consultant doctor to oversee testing, and ensure that workers and travelers adhere to health measures and to assess the general health situation at the center.
