On the Middle East issues, the King stressed the necessity of intensifying efforts to re-launch negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis to reach a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The talks also touched on developments related to the Syrian crisis, as well as the burdens arising from the Syrian refugee crisis on the Jordanian economy and its limited resources.
For her part, Ros-Lehtinen commended the King's unrelenting efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
