King to take part in international meeting in Albania to discuss efforts to combat terrorism

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II will start a working visit to the Albanian capital of Tirana next week to participate in an international meeting that will be part of the Aqaba meetings to follow up on the international efforts to combat terrorism, preceded by a private visit.
The meeting, which is being held for the first time outside Jordan, will discuss security challenges in the Western Balkan region, and will bring together security and political officials from many countries, as well as counterparts from the Balkans, international partners and the European Union.
The King and the Albanian Prime Minister will also participate in a part of a conference on combating extremism organized by the Albanian and Dutch governments, in the presence of the prime ministers of Kosovo, Macedonia and Bulgaria, as well as 200 political, security, religious and academic leaders.
The Aqaba meetings, launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II in 2015, aim at enhancing security and military coordination and cooperation and exchanging expertise and information between regional and international parties to combat terrorism within a holistic approach.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as the Regent.
