Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki Tuesday met with the Justice Parliamentary Bloc, headed by MP Mujhem Sqour, as part of a series of encounters he had with parliament and various economic sectors to discuss and find solutions to economic challenges.

Sqour said his bloc has enough expertise and skills to propose policies and introduce legislations to help find solutions to many economic problems, and will deal with government programmes based on His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to protect the middle class and low-income groups.

He stressed the importance of such periodic meetings between lawmakers and the government to enhance the "real and complementary" partnership between executive and legislative authorities to address the various domestic woes.

The lawmaker emphasised the needs to attract investments and grant them the necessary exemptions, due to their role in propping up the national economy and creating job opportunities for Jordanians, and ensure that no administrative hurdles stand in the way of foreign capital.

Mulqi told the meeting, which was attended by a number of ministers, that the government is keen on dialogue and to listen to all views and suggestions before the final approval of the fiscal and economic reform programme.

The reform package, he pointed out, is a national strategy to address the imbalances in the public finance, reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio, spur growth and raise the resilience of the economy in the face of challenges.

He said that in view of declining foreign aid, self-reliance had become a strategic goal that "we all should endeavour to achieve, not a mere slogan", adding that "we can grow with our country and move forward without hesitation".
