Jordan allows all refugees at border crossings into the country

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS -Interior Minister Mazen Qadi Thursday said that Jordan receives and allows the entry of all Syrian refugees from various crossing points and provides them with necessary humanitarian aid before transferring them to camps.
During a meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative to Jordan, Andrew Harper, the minster said that Jordan deals with the Syrian refugee crisis in a coordinated and comprehensive manner with all concerned parties.
"Since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, Jordan has offered and is still doing its best to help alleviate the suffering of Syrian refugees in various domains," he explained.
Talks between the two officials also tackled the latest developments related to the Syrian crisis as well as means to reduce the impact of the Syrian refugees on different vital services and security sectors in the Kingdom.
"On daily basis Jordan receives and allows the entry of all Syrian refugees from various crossing points and provides them with necessary humanitarian aid before transferring them to camps", he stated.
The minister stressed the need to increase the international support for Jordan, to cover the true cost of hosting the refugees, which put severe pressure on the already difficult economic conditions in the Kingdom .
The international support for the Kingdom is essential to help the country continue cope with the influx of refugees on various economic, political and security levels.
Due to long borders with unstable neighboring countries, Jordan Border guards had to double their efforts to monitor the borders to stop smuggling attempts, fight crimes and foil infiltration attempts to maintain peace, security and stability of the country which is reflected on the region and the whole world.
The minister stressed Jordan's strategic relations with UNHCR, stressing its role in supporting the refugees as the international umbrella concerned with the refugees in the Kingdom.
Qadi praised the commission's role and work in helping Jordan cope with the repercussions of the Syrian crisis.
Harper hailed Jordan's stance in dealing with the Syrian crisis, stressing that the commission is constantly seeking to develop projects in the country and increase aid to enable the Kingdom to deal with the crisis and overcome challenges and difficulties on Jordan's economy and society.
The two sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation to address the Syrian refugee crisis and to find necessary solutions to deal with its various repercussions.
