Students from University of Jordan and Zarqa University blasted what they described as the "agents of the coup against political legitimacy" in Egypt, and denounced the Egyptian authorities' violent crackdown on pro-Mursi supporters in Rabaa al-Adwiya square in Cairo and Al Nahda Square in Giza. The students raised Egyptian flags and chanted slogans against Egypt's military and interim government, and expressed denunciation of Jordan's official stance in supporting what they considered the "military coup" and its "massacres" against Egyptian protesters. They blasted media outlets that they deemed biased towards the Egyptian military, and hailed news outlets such as Al Jazeera, Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood affiliated Al Yarmouk Television and Al Quds TV for siding with the pro-Mursi protesters in Egypt. The Egyptian authorities cracked down on pro-Mursi protesters in attempts to break up the sit-ins there, culminating in violence that left over 700 dead and thousands injured throughout Egypt.
