Ammon News - BEIRUT - A Jordanian man was killed Saturday in Antelias, north of Beirut, after a dispute over money turned violent, a senior security source told The Daily Star.
Khaled Awad Radwan Al-Faouri, 46, was shot by an unidentified assailant outside Saniour restaurant in Antelias, Metn, after the two men quarreled over money, the source said.
A member of the municipality police, who was near where the incident took place, told investigators Faouri was shot in the head after the assailant forced him to get down on his knees.
The municipality official said the shooting took place after Faouri repeatedly insisted he did not have money he owed the assailant.
After the shooting, the assailant dropped the gun he had used to shoot Faouri and fled the area.
Faouri was transferred to Abu Jaoude Hospital in Jal Al-Dib, where he died from his wounds.
Security forces are trying to identify the assailant and seek his arrest.
