King discusses Mideast with Canadian delegation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS-His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday discussed with a delegation representing the Canadian Center for Israeli and Jewish Affairs efforts to bring about peace in the region as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.
The King urged the international community to help the Palestinians and Israelis return to the negotiating table to discuss all final status issues, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
At the meeting, which was attended by Director of the King's Office Imad Fakhoury the King said the Palestinian-Israeli conflict remains the region's core issue despite the accelerating developments in the Middle East.
His Majesty highlighted the need to arrive at a just and permanent peace that fulfill the legitimate rights of Palestinians in line with the two-state solution as well as international legitimacy resolutions.
King Abdullah also reviewed the latest developments in the region, the Syrian crisis and Jordan's support of efforts to arrive at a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
