Ammon News - The Ministry of Social Development apprehended 671 beggars during 524 anti-begging campaigns across the Kingdom last December.
In its report for December, the Ministry stated that it processed 7,991 applications for health insurance cards, 149 applications for exemption from medical expenses, 130 applications for inheritance settlement services, and 2,056 applications for work permit exemptions.
35 children were placed in residential care homes, 39 were discharged, and 6 were placed with foster families. Five new nurseries were also licensed, according to the report.
The report indicated that 197 women and children benefited from the services of the Social Service Offices – Family and Juvenile Protection Department. 268 juveniles benefited from the services of the Ministry's juvenile rehabilitation and training centers, 96 of whom participated in vocational rehabilitation programs. 62 working children received psychological and social services and interventions according to the case management methodology. 792 individuals benefited from the services of the Social Service Offices in correctional and rehabilitation centers.
