US envoy Waltz visits Jordan in push for regional stability

Ammon News - Ambassador Mike Waltz, Representative of the United States to the United Nations, will head to Jordan in a visit that underscores the United States’ commitment to advancing regional stability, implementing President Trump’s 20-Point Plan for Gaza, and supporting the objectives of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, which establishes the way forward for the region.

Waltz's visit to the Middle East, from December 6 to December 10, will also include Israel.

A statement from Ambassador Mike Waltz’s office noted that while in Jordan, Ambassador Waltz will meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and senior Jordanian officials, to discuss bilateral cooperation and Jordan’s critical role in facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza. Ambassador Waltz will also engage with humanitarian organizations to assess ongoing efforts to deliver life-saving assistance to those in need. Additionally, he will explore opportunities to strengthen U.S.-Jordan collaboration on regional security and humanitarian challenges, including the Syrian refugee crisis.

In Israel, Ambassador Waltz will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog to advance U.S.-Israel cooperation at the United Nations and discuss shared priorities for regional security and humanitarian aid. He will also tour Israel’s northern and southern borders, receiving briefings on the implementation of UNSCR 2803. Ambassador Waltz will visit Kerem Shalom to focus on aid distribution to Gaza and will visit the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), which plays a vital role in ensuring the effective implementation of President Trump’s 20-Point Plan.

Ambassador Waltz will also meet with Acting United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Ramiz Alakbarov to discuss the work of UNSCO in supporting humanitarian efforts and advancing peace in the region.

This trip reflects President Trump’s unwavering commitment to ending entrenched conflicts and securing a peaceful and prosperous future for the Middle East.
