Ministry Promotes Arabic Language Programs, Student Exchange in Türkiye

04-11-2025 02:39 PM

Ammon News - A delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research concluded an official visit to Türkiye, in coordination with the General Directorate of Religious Education at the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE), to promote Arabic language programs for non-native speakers at Jordanian universities.

The delegation, headed by Sajida Naddaf, Director of the International Students Affairs Unit at the Ministry, and including Renad Nawfal, Cultural Attaché at the Jordanian Embassy in Ankara, visited several Turkish schools where they delivered presentations on studying Arabic in Jordan and discussed ways to increase Turkish students’ enrollment in Jordanian universities.

Workshops during the visit highlighted Jordan’s academic strengths and competitive advantages, including the quality of higher education, the global rankings of Jordanian universities for 2025, and the strong reputation of their graduates.

The delegation noted that Jordanian public universities offer the same tuition rates to students from non-Arabic-speaking Muslim countries studying Arabic or Islamic studies as those applied to Jordanian students. They also promoted Jordan’s unique tourism offerings.

The visit included a presentation on the unified electronic admissions system for international students, which enables applicants to enroll in Jordanian public universities from their home countries without intermediaries, saving time, effort, and costs.

Discussions also covered potential cooperation mechanisms, student exchange programs, and the signing of memoranda of understanding to support Arabic language education for non-native speakers.

This visit comes as part of the Ministry’s 2023–2027 strategy to attract international students, implemented in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board.

The strategy, endorsed by the Cabinet, includes field visits to several Arab and foreign countries identified as target markets for international student recruitment.
