JD899mln in transfers via e-wallets in early 2025

Ammon News - Digital payments in the Kingdom via the instant digital payment system "JoMoPay" from the start of 2025 until the end of February reached JD899.7 million, with 12.29 million transactions.

The value of transfers issued from e-wallets decreased by 8% to JD431 million during February, compared to JD469 million in January, according to a report by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Systems Company (JoPACC).

Money transfers accounted for 89.4% of outgoing remittances from e-wallets, reaching a value of JD385.2 million in February, compared to 5.5% for withdrawals, 4% for deposits, and 1.1% for purchases.

The number of e-wallet users in Jordan increased by 1.2% to reach 2.58 million users, 88.1% of whom were Jordanians and 11.9% non-Jordanians.

Data indicates that 50.3% of e-wallet users are female, and 49.2% are male, with the 18- to 30-year-old age group constituting the majority of e-wallet users.

JoMoPay is an electronic system that provides instant mobile payment services, where mobile wallets are registered on the system for the purpose of exchanging financial transactions between mobile wallets and to and from bank accounts.
