Hassan: The government is keen on consulting with the associations

Ammon News - Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan met Tuesday, with the President of the Engineers Association, Engineer Ahmad Samara Al-Zoubi, and the President of the Contractors Association, Engineer Ayman Al-Khudairi, as part of his ongoing meetings with representatives of various national sectors, including professional unions.

During the meeting, Hassan emphasized the important role of professional associations as national institutions whose expertise and human resources have contributed to the process of construction and modernization. He affirmed that the government is keen on consulting with associations, especially regarding plans, studies, and the implementation of vital future projects in several sectors, most notably water, energy, railways, transportation, and infrastructure. This aligns with the vision for economic modernization, which requires the participation of all sectors and institutions to promote sustainable economic growth and provide employment opportunities.

The heads of the Engineers and Contractors Associations affirmed that their associations are offering their expertise and capabilities to serve national projects. They also emphasized the importance of working in a spirit of cooperation and partnership with the government.

During the meeting, several issues of interest to the Engineers Association were discussed, including the activation of training agreements with ministries, hosting the headquarters of the Arab Center for Engineering Arbitration in Jordan—reflecting the prominence and reliability of Jordanian expertise—and the system for professional qualification and accreditation, aimed at improving the competitiveness of Jordanian engineers both locally and internationally.

The President of the Contractors Association outlined the key opportunities and challenges facing the sector, highlighting the importance of supporting export efforts in the construction sector and leveraging Jordanian expertise in development projects abroad, particularly in brotherly Iraq.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Maher Abu Al-Samen, and the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Moneim Al-Oudat.
