Arab tourists coming to Jordan spend JD1.418 bln in 7 months

Ammon News - Data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities showed that Arab tourists coming to Jordan are the highest spenders during the first seven months of 2024, amounting to JD1.418 billion.

Jordanians residing abroad were ranked second after Arab tourists in terms of spending during the first seven months of 2024, at JD968 million, according to data reported by Al-Mamlaka.

Foreign tourists came in third place, with spending reaching JD485 million.

Tourism revenues in Jordan during the first 7 months of this year amounted to about $4 billion, recording a decrease of 4.5% compared to the same period in 2023, according to data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan.

Tourism revenues during the first seven months of 2024 amounted to $4,048.9 million, a decrease of 4.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2023, a preliminary data showed.

This is due to a 7.5% decline in the number of tourists, according to the data.
