Ammon News - The Kingdom will experience an escalation of the current heat wave on Monday, with temperatures expected to peak significantly above the seasonal average by approximately 9-10 degrees Celsius.

The highlands will see hot weather, while the rest of the regions will endure very sweltering conditions. Winds will be southeasterly moderate to active, blowing dust, particularly in desert areas.

The Jordan Meteorological Department warned of several hazards, including the danger of direct sunlight exposure during peak hours, the risk of igniting fires in forest areas, the peril of leaving children in closed vehicles even briefly, and reduced horizontal visibility due to dust, especially in desert regions.

On Tuesday, mercury levels will slightly decrease, but the heat wave will persist, keeping weather conditions hot and dry across all regions. Winds will be moderate, shifting from northeasterly to northwesterly, and occasionally active.

By Wednesday, the impact of the hot air mass will diminish slightly. Therefore, the highlands will experience relatively hot weather, while the rest of the regions will remain hot, with moderate northwesterly winds occasionally becoming active.

Temperatures are set to rise again on Thursday, bringing hot weather in the highlands and plains, and very hot in the desert, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate northwesterly winds occasionally becoming active.

Today’s maximum and minimum temperatures in eastern Amman range between 24-40 degrees Celsius, in western Amman 20-38C, in the northern highlands 21-36C, in the Sharah highlands 20-35C, and in the Gulf of Aqaba 28-43 degrees Celsius. Petra
