Ammon News - Chairman of the Parliamentary Public Liberties and Human Rights Committee, Abdullah Abu Zeid, confirmed on Wednesday that the general pardon law that His Majesty King Abdullah II directs the government to draft it, will include all issues, traffic violations, and financial rights incurred by citizens for the benefit of the state.
In a statements to Ammon, Abu Zeid said that the law will certainly exclude drug cases, societal peace issues, and felonies in which the right holders have not waived their rights, because pardons forgive public rights and do not waive the rights of others.
The law includes 100% traffic violations because it is a right of the state and not of others, he stressed.
The latest update on the number of inmates in correctional and rehabilitation centers reached 24,800 inmates, with a capacity of approximately 185% of these centers, Abu Zeid stated.
