Ammon News - Media Spokesperson for Ministry of Labor, Mohammad Zyoud, confirmed that the Ministry does not issue any work permit for domestic workers in Jordan unless it receives a medical report from the Ministry of Health proving that they are medically fit.

In a statement to the Ministry on Sunday, Zyoud stated, that the homeowner does not receive the worker except after conducting a medical examination for her at the Ministry of Health proving that she is medically fit, stressing that if the medical report issued by the Ministry of Health proves that the worker is not medically fit, the owner of the recruitment office is obligated to return her to her country, and the competent authorities issue the necessary decisions in this regard.

The medical examinations conducted for the worker in her country are preliminary examinations that cannot be relied upon to issue any work permit for domestic workers in Jordan, Zyoud explained.
