Ammon News - The government referred a draft law to the Lower House to ratify a 6th amended agreement to rehabilitate, expand and operate Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) with the International Airport Group (AIG), for a period of at least 30 years.
The government asked the House to consider approving the draft law while giving it a status of urgency, as the agreement aims to enhance the investment situation in Jordan and maintain the operational stability of the aviation and air cargo sector, in accordance with the provisions of Article (117) of the Jordanian Constitution, according to the letter sent by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh to Lower House's Speaker Ahmad Safadi on March 7.
According to the letter, the agreement will be between the government, represented by the Ministry of Transport and the AIG, and will be effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
