Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs welcomed the UN Security Council's adoption of a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Sudan during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry’s official spokesperson, Sufyan Al-Qudah, expressed his hope that the Security Council’s resolution, which was issued on Friday by a majority of member states’ votes, would constitute the beginning of resolving the crisis and stopping the war that this brotherly Arab country has been witnessing for months.

Al-Qudah also expressed his hope that the advent of the holy month of Ramadan would be an opportunity for a ceasefire and to engage in a comprehensive national dialogue, in a way that takes precedence over the supreme national interest, to reach an agreement that preserves the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sudan and spares the blood of its brotherly people.
