FM confirms to UK counterpart danger of continued aggression against Gaza

Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, received on Tuesday a phone call from British Foreign Secretary David Cameron.

The call focused on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the efforts made to reach a ceasefire agreement and bring humanitarian aid into the Strip.

During the call, Safadi stressed the danger of the continued aggression against Gaza and the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.

Safadi also stressed the importance of continuing to support the UNRWA, which plays an irreplaceable or indispensable role in helping the Palestinians confront the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and all areas of refuge.

Safadi and Cameron discussed efforts to find mechanisms that allow immediate and sufficient aid to be delivered to Gaza, including from Jordan, and efforts to reduce regional escalation.

The two ministers agreed to continue consultations on these efforts.

Safadi and Cameron discussed bilateral relations, stressing the continuation of work to develop them in various fields.
