Court hands 7-year terms to organ traffickers

Ammon News - A court in Zarqa found seven people guilty of human trafficking on a joint enterprise basis, sentencing each of them to 7 years of hard labor and ordering them to pay a JD5,000 fine each.

In the guilty verdict, the court said that the convicts had taken advantage of a man's desperation to cover the costs of his ill daughter's surgery, making an agreement with him to sell his kidney in return for cash.
