Cabinet issues slew of decisions

Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh congratulated Jordanian Christians on the occasion of Easter holiday.

Chairing a Cabinet session on Sunday, Khasawneh said this occasion is "dear to all people of the country".

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved the mandating reasons for amendments of Specialized Tourist Transport Licensing Bylaw for 2023, and sent it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to complete issuance of procedures duly, giving it the status of urgency.

The bylaw aims to keep pace up with the "high" volume of reservations for domestic and foreign tourist groups compared to previous years.

The regulation was also made since tourist companies did not benefit from the previous Cabinet decision that gave a deadline to rectify their situation due to Covid-19 pandemic repercussions, which entered into force shortly after the decision was issued.

In addition, the Cabinet approved the validating reasons for an amended bylaw for administrative costs for services provided by Department of Lands and Surveys (DLS) for 2023, as the new Land Registration Fees Law No. (7) of 2023 was endorsed.

The bylaw details fees collected by DLS for land transactions and scraps clash in its articles, by amending the original text to dodge duplication or irregularity in collecting the due fees.

 

The Cabinet also approved the mandating reasons for amended Customs Bylaw of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) for 2023, to become in line with ASEZA law and enable Jordan Customs Department (JCD) to practice and regulate customs procedures within the ASEZA borders in line with the recent law-based amendments.


In addition, the Cabinet approved the validating reasons for administrative organization bylaw of Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) for 2023, to be in line with the Public Sector Modernization Map, which would contribute to strengthening principle of ACC's financial independence and help control spending and stimulate growth in the Kingdom's agricultural sector.

On the other hand, Council of Ministers approved National Strategy for Culture for 2023-2027, and entrusted Ministry of Culture to develop its executive action plan which performance indicators, timeframe and the estimated financial costs of implementing its goals are set.

The Cabinet approved decision of Board of Directors of National Resources Investment & Development Corporation, which okays policy of encouraging cash discounts on prices for the corporation's land plots intended for sale.

Council of Ministers decided to appoint Mona Mufti and Radhi Hammadin as members of Board of Commissioners of Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) and terminate membership of Ra'eda Naber and Abdul Raouf Rababa.

The Cabinet also decided to name Adel Sharaf El-Din Bino as Vice-Chairman of JSC's Board of Commissioners.
