Ammon News - Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel arrested one of the two female thieves, who appeared in a CCTV footage while they were stealing from an old lady inside a store north of Amman, and issued a warrant against the other.

A woman filed a complaint with the CID reporting that JD800 was stolen from her while she was inside a store north of Amman, the Public Security Department (PSD) spokesperson said.

The stealing incident was captured on a CCTV footage that has gone viral on social media, showing two unknown women as they were stealing from the old lady inside the store, the Public Security Department (PSD) spokesperson said.

Through investigations and information gathering, the identity of the two thieves was identified, and one of them was arrested, of an Arab nationality, and the search is underway for the other, the PSD spokesperson explained.

The spokesperson urged the public take caution while shopping as such days see overcrowding inside the shops and not to carry large sums of money, in addition to report directly any theft or stealing attempts via the unified emergency phone (911).
