JFDA closes 42 food facilities, suspends 217 others since beginning of Ramadan

Ammon News - The Jordan Food and Drug General Administration (JFDA) has closed 42 food facilities, while 217 other facilities were suspended from work, as part of 3879 inspection rounds carried out by its supervisory teams in various regions of the Kingdom since the start of Ramadan until Friday.

JFDA Director General Nizar Muhaidat, in a statement, said that more than 45,000 kilograms of violating foodstuffs, more than 4,000 liters of liquid food, and more than 23,000 liters of juices were destroyed by the control and inspection teams.

He added that the caders also seized about 66,000 kilograms of food circulating in the markets for laboratory examination purposes.
