Ammon News - Relatively hot weather conditions are forecast on Sunday countywide as temperatures jump to 10-11 degrees above average, with clouds at medium and high altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

At night, light showers of rain are likely in the southern region, while winds will be briskly from the southeast, shifting to the southwest in the afternoon, and stirring dust in many areas, especially in the desert.

On Monday, the Kingdom will be affected by unstable weather conditions, pushing temperatures slightly down and bringing dusty and warm weather, the JMD added.

Clouds will form at various altitudes, and scattered showers of rain will fall in different regions. In the afternoon, the south of the Kingdom, including Aqaba, is likely to have heavy rain, accompanied by intermittent thunder and hail, causing flash floods in the valleys and low areas.

Tuesday will see a significant drop in mercury levels, becoming 3-4 degrees below the average, and bringing relatively cold and partly cloudy weather conditions, with scattered showers and northwesterly moderate winds.

Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will hit 31 degrees Celsius, dipping to 17C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a scorching 37C, sliding to 23C during night hours.
