Jordan warns of Israeli occupation police continued attacks on worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warned that the continued attacks of the Israeli occupation police on worshipers and attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and impose a temporal and spatial division in it represent a dangerous escalation and a condemned and rejected violation of international law and the responsibilities of Israel as the occupying power.

The ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Sinan Majali, said that Israel bears full responsibility for the serious consequences of the continued escalation, which exacerbates the situation and threatens to explode the spiral of violence.

Majali urged the international community to assume its responsibilities, and to take immediate action to stop the Israeli attacks on the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif, and on the sacred right of worshipers to perform their religious rituals.

The ministry condemned the occupation police's raiding again the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif on Wednesday evening, and forcibly expelling the worshipers from it.

Majali underlined that the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a pure place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jordanian Department of the Jerusalem Awqaf and the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the affairs of the Holy Mosque and regulate entry to it.

The ministry's spokesperson added that the ministry is continuing its intensive contacts and movements, regionally and internationally, in order to stop the escalatory Israeli steps, and warn of its consequences that push towards more violence and tension.
