Jordan calls for urgent Arab League meeting after storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Ammon News - Jordan on Wednesday called for an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League at the level of permanent representatives to discuss the latest developments in the Al-Aqsa Mosque/ al-Haram al-Sharif.

The call, coordinated with both the Palestinian authority and Egypt, came shortly after Israeli forces stormed the holy compound and assaulted Muslim worshippers at dawn on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement that the Kingdom is actively working to find an end to ongoing Israeli attacks which constitute a flagrant violation of international law and aim to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities.
