Latest precipitation raises season's average to 90%

Ammon News - Downpours increased to 90 percent Jordan's long-term annual average of 8.1 billion cubic meters since the start of winter, totaling 113.1 percent of rainfall recorded in 2022, according to Ministry of Water and Irrigation figures.

The ministry said the highest downpour of 35.2 millimeters (mm) was recorded in Irbid in the last 24 hours.

A total of 1.5 million cubic meters (mcm) was channeled into dams across the Kingdom, raising their storage to 118 mcm, about 41.9 of their total 280.759 mcm capacity, added the ministry.
