Ammon News - Members of the Jordanian Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee met with Italian Ambassador Luciano Bizzotti on Wednesday over relations and parliamentary cooperation.

Head of the committee Khaldoun Hayna urged further cooperation between foreign affairs committees at the two countries' parliaments, noting the importance of His Majesty King Abdullah II's visit to Italy in late 2022, which highlighted Italy's role played in the Middle East.

Commending the strong ties with Italy, Hayna called on Italians to visit Jordan and enjoy its sites.

Bizzotti said King Abdullah's visit to Italy helped develop Jordanian-Italian ties, affirming support for Jordan's efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and for the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.

He praised the Kingdom's political, economic, and administrative reforms, pointing to Italian projects in Jordan and showing a willingness to boost Italian tourist numbers.
