Ammon News - A hot and dry air mass accompanied by a depression coming from Egypt’s Sinai peninsula is expected to grip the Kingdom on Sunday, pushing temperatures significantly high to become 10-12 degrees above their annual average, with dusty weather prevailing in many regions, forecasters said.
The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) warned of poor horizontal visibility due to dust in the desert, and urged the public, especially asthma patients and those who suffer seasonal allergies, to take precautions as the dust-laden winds pass through the country.
A tangible drop in mercury levels is forecast on Monday returning to their seasonal averages and bringing relatively cold conditions in the highlands until Tuesday, while it will be pleasant in other regions, with low clouds in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom.
Winds will be northwesterly brisk, blowing dust and causing poor visibility, mainly in the eastern region.
Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 28 degrees Celsius and a low of 9C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 37C, sliding to 17C at night.
